A notable mention of our technologies was made in the scientific program, which sparked strong interest with crucial clinical dilemmas and modern therapeutic approaches.
In particular:
Transurethral Prostatectomy: Addressing the question ‘Is it time to abandon transurethral prostatectomy?’, I. Kyriazis (‘Yes’) and G. Chasiotis (‘No’) defended their respective positions, with specific reference to modern Aquablation therapy. In the dilemma over whether it is time to abandon traditional transurethral prostatectomy, Aquablation emerges as the most modern and revolutionary alternative for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Combining advanced robotic technology with a high-pressure water jet, the method removes obstructive tissue with millimeter-level precision without the use of heat, ensuring superior efficacy across all prostate sizes, rapid recovery, and—most importantly—impressive preservation of sexual function and continence.

2 cm Urethral Stricture Recurrence: I. Adamakis and V. Protogerou shared their clinical experience comparing urethroplasty with endoscopic management, emphasizing the efficacy of Optilume. This is a paclitaxel-coated balloon catheter that combines mechanical dilation of the urethra with drug delivery, effectively preventing the formation of new scar tissue. It represents a minimally invasive endoscopic approach while ensuring high long-term success rates and significantly reducing the risk of recurrence.

Erectile Dysfunction Workshop: In a specialized workshop on models titled ‘Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction: Injections and Shockwaves’, experts K. Makarounis, A. Paschalidis, and K. Rokkas presented the use and capabilities of SoftInject. In the context of managing erectile dysfunction, the SoftInject device is an innovative automatic injection tool that significantly facilitates the administration of intracavernous medications. By completely concealing the needle and offering adjustable penetration depth, a controlled injection rate, and absolute discretion, this device eliminates fear and pain, drastically increasing patient compliance and autonomy in their treatment.

We warmly thank all healthcare professionals who participated in the conference proceedings and visited our booth!
