Nikolaos A. Bafaloukas was born in Athens and graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1995. He completed his residency in Urology at Sismanogleio General Hospital of Athens in 2004. From 2005 to 2006, he received further training in endourology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. He specialized in minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), with a focus on Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP).

Dr. Bafaloukas performs the HoLEP procedure for the treatment of BPH at IASO General Clinic, successfully utilizing the MultiPulse HoPLUS laser system. He has performed over 1,000 HoLEP procedures using the en bloc technique. Over the past year, in addition to the standard 26Fr HoLEP instruments, the clinic has also introduced the mini 22Fr variation, known as MiLEP.

He is a pioneer in Greece in ECIRS (Endoscopic Combined Intrarenal Surgery – combining mini PCNL with endoscopic laser lithotripsy RIRS), which represents the current evolution of all endoscopic stone treatment techniques.
